Developing the Barham River Floodplain

The locals think its a disaster , but Mr Forsyth supports Mr De Cicco's plan to bring the Sunshine coast style of development to Victoria- the style where we can't afford to have green wedges or great entries to great valley views . Where we are so desperate for land that we need to build on estuaries and take risks with estuary and sand dune function. According to the director of the CCMA there are no environmental problems associated with reengineering one of highest energy stream outlets and beautiful estauries in the State. We trust he has done his homework and noone else will have to come in a fix the mess when it rains.

Gippsland floods -Could they happen here?

The floods in Gippsland were not as unpredictable as the media and our pollies would make out . Its easier to blame someone else eh:Talk about 1 in 100 or 1in 1000.
The Barham river in Apollo Bay is about to be built on by those who rely, not on facts and risk advice from independant experts , but thick reports produced by developers. Thredbo landowners, whose buildings collapsed had the same assurances through govt agencies that "the risk was low" . The risk is not low , but the govt don't know . I wonder why ? See the evidence of grand neglect of planning by Bracks on http://designwithnature.blogspot.com .blogspot.com
